Furthermore, Daryl Mitchell has been included in the roster of candidates vying for the identical accolade.

Following their outstanding performances in 2023, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, and Mohammed Shami are in contention for the ICC men’s ODI cricketer of the year award. Daryl Mitchell, a significant performer for New Zealand in the 50-over format and the last World Cup, has also been included to the list of candidates.

Kohli and Shami shone for India at the 2023 World Cup, with Kohli finishing as the tournament’s best scorer and Shami taking the most wickets. Their outstanding achievements were critical in India’s route to the final as the host country.
